Oliver Gaede

Oliver is a geophysics lecturer at the Queensland University of Technology. He holds a Masters in Geophysics from the Freie Universität Berlin. During his Ph.D. at UWA he researched the geomechanics of anisotropic rock formations. This let to contract work for BHP Billiton, investigating stress induced anisotropy at the North West Shelf and for Schlumberger-Doll Research, investigating boreholes stresses in anisotropic shales. After completing his Ph.D. he worked as geomechanics specialist for GeoMechanicsInternational Baker Hughes. His current research includes numerical geomechanics, petrophysical studies of Surat Basin aquifers as well as investigating gypsum dehydration with synchrotron x-ray scattering.
